Student of the Month ~

Mr. Leakey spun the wheel to win "switch a teacher for a class".  The students are very excited about this.  Keep up the excellent work everyone!

Spelling Bee Winners ~

This year Mrs. Martinoff and Mrs. Hutchings decided to offer their students in Gr. 4 - 6 a chance to participate in the District's Spelling Bee.  In order to see who would qualify to attend this District event, they held a spelling bee amoungst their classes.  Congratulations to the following students who were the top two winners in each class.

Library Winners ~

Alice G in Gr. 1 and Jarrett A in Gr. 2 were this month's library winners.  In order for a chance to win the Library Draw, students need to enter their name into the draw during their library class.

We Day Bake Sale ~

The student council members and the Gr. 5/6 students baked goods to sell at the WE Day Bake Sale.  All proceeds went to support needs in a developing country.  Thank you to everyone that supported this great cause.

Life Synergy For Youth ~

On Monday, March 6th, the Gr. 6 students will attend a presentation at Calmar Secondary School in the morning. The presentation will be given by Dwayne Peace.  Mr. Peace is a retired Calgary Police Officer.  Dwayne spent the last 7 years of his career as a School Resource Officer.  Dwayne speaks to the students about many of the Life issues that students face as teenagers and young adults.

Calmar Secondary School will also be hosting an evening presentation for parents.  The presentation will be from 7:00 - 9:30 in their new gymnasium.  Parents that have previously attended a presentation by Dwayne say that it is an excellent and informative presentation.  Everyone is welcome to attend!

School Council/Parents' Group Meeting ~

Please note that the date for the School Council and Parents' Group meeting has been rescheduled.  It is now being held on Tuesday, March 7th at 6:30.
