June 24 - 27

It is hard to believe that we are into the last week of school.  I know time seems to go by more quickly the older we get so to the staff it should only be around Christmas time.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for all you have done to make 2018-2019 such a wonderful year.  None of it would have been possible without the support you give to your child, teacher and school.  I appreciate everything you have done throughout the year. At New Humble, we are blessed to have such a supportive parent and community group!  Thank you, Thank you!

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a wonderful summer.  Even though school is finished for the summer, I would encourage you to work with your child so as to help them maintain the skills they have developed.  Practice of these basic skills can be done in fun ways so that they don't even realize they are doing school work.  You can play board games on a rainy day, play car games like "Who Can Find All of the Alphabet Letters First", "I Spy" or "Twenty Questions" or you choose a story as a read aloud while you are traveling.  Continue to have your child read each day.  But most of all, have fun with them and have plenty of conversations about what you are doing or seeing.

Stay safe everyone and see you back in September!

It is important that the students get a good night's sleep the night before each test and have a nutritious breakfast each morning of the test.  There is plenty of research to support the benefits of good nutrition on school performance.

School Track Meet ~

Our students are gearing up for the yearly track meet which will be held on Friday, June 21st .

We will be following the same format for the track meet as last year.  In the morning the students will be divided into groups by their age where they will compete against other students of the same gender and age.  In the afternoon students will be divided into family groups to compete in a variety of activities with their family group.

Parking is always an issue at the school as space is limited. This year we are asking that everyone park on the south side of the school.  We will only have one event happening on the south side of the school this year.  When parking, please be careful of the students that are moving to and from that event.  Thank you.

Due to the late timing of this year's track day we will not be able to schedule a rain out date. The hamburger/hot dog lunch will be served on Friday, June 21st regardless.

Gr. 6 Farewell ~

On Monday, June 24th at 6:00 p.m. we will be having our Gr. 6 Farewell.  The staff hosts this event as an opportunity to say 'Thank You' to the Gr. 6 students for all of the contributions that they have made to New Humble Centre School and to wish them all the best in their future.
