Week of Sept. 10 ~ 14

What a great first week we had here at New Humble Centre.  It was wonderful seeing all of the students and hearing about their summer adventures.  

Everyone settled into routines quickly and are hard at work.  It is so nice to see the kindergarten room filled with more little bodies this year.  

Thanks to everyone that was able to make it out to the Welcome Back BBQ and the School Council/Parent Group Meeting.  We do  understand that fall is a busy time for all of the farming families but it would be wonderful to see more parents out for the School Council and Parent Group meeting.  The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25 @ 6:00 pm.  

Friday, Sept. 7 was Ukrainian Canadian Heritage Day.  Students were encouraged to dress in yellow and blue to match the Ukrainian Flag.  Students and staff were treated to a traditional Ukrainian lunch of perogies and sausage compliments of the Parent Group.  Thank you to the Parent Group for providing the delicious lunch!

Staff Welcome Back & Professional Development~

There will be no school for students this Friday, Sept. 14 as it is the District Welcome Back Service and a Staff Professional Development Day.

Terry Fox Run/Walk ~ 

Thursday, September 27 is the school Terry Fox Run/Walk.  It will begin at 2:30 in the gym.  All families are welcome to join us.  

Orange Shirt Day ~ 

We will be having Orange Shirt Day on Friday, Sept. 28th.  Everyone is encouraged to wear orange in the spirit of reconciliation with our First Nations people.
