School Spelling Bee ~
On Monday, February 12 we held our school spelling bee. We held it in the gym and set up the format as close to the District Bee as possible. We had fifteen students from gr. 4 to Gr. 6 compete in the Bee. Congratulations to all of those students. They all did a fabulous job. Special congratulations to Brianna Leakey (1st place) and Kianna Larson (2nd place) who will be going on to represent NHCS at the District Spelling Bee on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 6:30 at Caledonia Park School. We wish the girls the best of luck.
Thanks also to Mr. Glubish for coming out to watch the competition!
Curling ~
Our Gr. 3 - 6 students had a great time trying their hand at curling. Despite the hesitation of many of the students, they all had a fabulous time and many asked if we could go more often.
Thank you so much to the Calmar Curling Association for providing the ice time and the busing to this event. Thank you also to Shaun Abel for volunteering his time to teach the students about curling in such an engaging way!
Valentine's Day ~
Thank you to all the students and staff that got into the school/valentine spirit by wearing red and/or white to school.
Family Day ~
There will be no school on Monday, February 19th as it is Family Day. We hope everyone takes advantage of this day to spend time together as a family. Thank you to all of the families that sent back their form explaining their plan to unplug on Family Day.
Congratulations to the Glubish Family for being the lucky winners of the FCSS Family Day prize!
