WE Day ~
On Wednesday, Oct. 26th fifteen students from the Gr.5/6 class were fortunate enough to attend WE Day in Calgary. This was a very inspirational day for the students. They were able to hear stories from people like Paula Abdul and astronaut Chris Hatfield as well as other people that chose to rise above the adversity they were facing and make a difference in the world.
If you would like to know more about what WE Day is, you can go to www.we.org. I am sure that if your child was one of the students that attended WE Day, you have already heard many of the stories. I know that I have enjoyed talking with the students about who they were most inspired by.
A special thank you to our PTA who provided the funds for the busing. Your generosity made this day possible for many of the fifteen students that attend. Thank you so much!
Thank you to the people that responded to our call for baby food jars. Thanks to your generosity Mrs. Sekora was able to start a science project in the Learning Commons. She is growing rocks. If you are in the school go down to the Learning Commons and check it out.
