120 Years Celebration! 

Thank you to everyone who came and made our celebration so special!  It was an amazing day! 

**Note - Please continue to bring skates and helmets for recess. There may be times when we are skating for PE, but you will be notified of that in advance.  Please remember to send your child with hats, mitts, snow pants and boots, as there is much snow to play in! You may want to send two pairs of mitts and socks to keep in their backpack.  

**Note- You should have received your notification to complete the 2020 Accountability Pillar survey from Alberta Education via your mail. This can be done online or you can return the completed paper copies directly to Alberta Education.  This needs to be completed by February 28, 2020.  Please share your voice about our school.

A very chilly week!

This week was a very chilly one!  Due to the weather, we have re-scheduled our Tuesday Hot Lunch, Friday Hot Lunch as well as our Social Media presentation for students and parents.  Pancakes and Fruit will be served on January 27 and the Social Media presentation for Grade 4-6 (12:45-1:45 pm) and for parents (2-3 pm) will take place on Tuesday, February 4.  Friday's Hot Lunch will be re-scheduled at a later date.  The Girl's Basketball Tournament has been cancelled for this weekend.

Wednesday, January 22 - 1 pm - The 120th Anniversary of New Humble Centre School - come to share in some history of the school, student entertainment, cake and a family skating party with a hot chocolate bar.

Welcome to January!

Welcome to 2020 at NHCS!

- This week was filled with playing in the snow (and then being trapped indoors) and getting back into the groove of learning!
- For the upcoming snacks provided by the nutrition program, could you please send a spoon with your child to keep in their locker?  This will cut down on waste.
- Please make sure all students have warm mitts, socks, hats, snow pants and winter jackets, as we will be going outside for recesses here and there, even when it may be chilly! Do not count on it being an indoor recess.
- On Monday we will be able to skate on the rink, please bring your helmets and skates to enjoy the fun! Weather permitting!

On January 22, New Humble Centre School will be celebrating 120 years since it's opening.  Watch the blog for events on this exciting day! 

Upcoming Events

Thursday, January 16 - 2pm - a Social Media Presentation will take place in the Library for all of our parents.  This presentation will be put on by our Wellness Team.  Come and learn some valuable information regarding our students and social media. 

**There was a child's sled left on the playground sometime over the Christmas break. We have put it on the picnic table. Please come and get it, if it is yours!
